Developer announces London project

A building firm has announced that it has been given the status of
preferred builder for an east London housing project.
Galliford Try Homes has revealed that it is set to proceed with a
£25 million development that will see it construct 178 mixed
tenure apartments in Stratford for One Housing Group.
Such a project may help provide new housing opportunities for
first-time buyers in the east of the capital.
It will include the provision of renewable energy sources such as
biomass boilers and use sustainable construction methods.
Chief executive of the firm Greg Fitzgerald commented: "We are
delighted to continue Galliford Try's strong presence in the
regeneration of east London, adding to the portfolio of projects
carried out in partnership with One Housing Group."
Located in the borough of Newham, Stratford is an area undergoing
significant renewal as it includes the 2012 Olympic Park, which
contains many of the major venues for the London Games.
The average house price in the borough in October was
£241,855, according to Land Registry figures.
